Have you considered doing a study of a single book of the Bible in 2022?
Whether you are a pastor planning an upcoming sermon series, or a small group leader planning a book study, or a student of the scriptures studying for personal enrichment, we want to invite you to our Winter Bible Study focused on the book of Psalms!
This is a chance to gather with other pastors and Bible teachers — to step back and catch your breath — and take some time to explore the riches of what God has given us in the Psalms.
We have engaged a wonderful pair of Bible expositors to lead us.
Dr. Wayne VanHorn will discuss the history and background of the Psalms. He is Dean of the School of Christian Studies and the Arts at Mississippi College. He and his wife Terri have three children and nine grandchildren.
Dr. Waylon Bailey will explore ways to preach and teach the Psalms. Since 1989, he has served as pastor of the First Baptist Church of Covington, Louisiana. As a former professor of Old Testament and Hebrew at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, Waylon is the author of five books, including the New American Commentary on Nahum, Habakkuk, and Zephaniah. He and his wife Martha are the parents of two adult daughters, and have three grandsons and one granddaughter.
During the lunch following each speaker’s presentation, we will have a Q&A time with both men.
We will be meeting together on Tuesday October 19, 2021 (9 am – 1 pm) at the First Baptist Church of Covington, 16333 Highway 1085, Covington, LA 70433.
There is no cost for the conference or the lunch, but we do need to get a head count for lunch. Please RSVP by October 15 by calling (225) 567-5086 or by emailing Kathy at office@northshorebaptists.net.
We hope to see you there!
